LONDON SINFONIETTA’S NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY
British Library
Fri 21 Sep 2018, 6:30 - 9:00pm
London
The London Sinfonietta makes musical history. Through our adventurous and risk-taking programme, we have commissioned and performed music by living composers from around the world for the past 50 years. We inspire and train the next generation of musical creators and performers and now look forward to continuing the journey beyond our landmark 50th Anniversary.
Join us and support our mission at an extraordinary evening of exploration and musical discovery, including pop-up performances, exclusive after-hours tours, a silent auction with special prizes including the chance to conduct the London Sinfonietta and a stay in an historic Scottish lighthouse. You will also have the chance to take home an original postcard by esteemed composers including Harrison Birtwistle, George Benjamin, Olga Neuwirth and Steve Reich in our postcard raffle.
The evening will include
A guided promenade through the public spaces of The British Library
A curated up-close look at British Library and London Sinfonietta archive artefacts
Pop-up performances by London Sinfonietta musicians
