BOULEZ: SONIC STRUCTURES
George Benjamin conducts an exploration of Pierre Boulez
Queen Elizabeth Hall
Explore the intoxicating structures of Pierre Boulez in his 100th year, Marius Neset's volcanic saxophone improvisations with lush orchestral arrangements, a cultural phenomenon at the intersection of music and horticulture, and a rare performance of a haunting Gerard Grisey masterpiece.
In Autumn-Winter 25-26, the London Sinfonietta presents a series of world-class performances exploring bold sound worlds. Witness unmissable collaborations, world premieres from emerging composers, and tributes to the giants of contemporary music.
Along with a special introduction from the great composer/conductor George Benjamin at our season opening Boulez: Sonic Structures, we welcome performances across the season from flutist Michael Cox, soprano Nina Guo, The Royal Academy of Music Ensemble, and collaborations with Norwegian jazz fusion giants Marius Neset and Anton Eger, composer/conductor Jack Sheen, and composers and winners of our Writing the Future scheme Ashkan Layegh and Omri Kochavi.
General booking opens at 10am on Tuesday 29 April
With performances of Memoriale, ...explosante-fixe.., and a special introduction to the latter by great composer/conductor George Benjamin, revealing its complex evolution live on stage.
