A rare programme of music by Argentinian- German composer Mauricio Kagel, who thought of his works as pieces of theatre, creating both aural and visual elements for his audience to enjoy. Many of Kagel’s works include stage instructions for the performers, from choreographed movements around the platform, to specific facial expressions used to accentuate or punctuate the music. This concert is part of the London Sinfonietta’s Turning Points series, presenting music by composers whose output was so distinctive that it influenced the course of music history.
