Music by Boulez, Feldman, Tansy Davies and more
Kings Place, London
In this video series The Composer's Mind, we meet the composers behind London Sinfonietta's rich programme of newly commissioned repertoire. In this first episode, we speak to Tansy Davies. Having began her relationship with the London Sinfonietta as a keen school participant as part of our early education programme, Davies has become a regular collaborator with the ensemble with recent world premieres including The Rule Is Love (2019) and her RPS award-winning chamber opera Cave (2017), with librettist Nick Drake. Hear examples of her music and her account of a journey into making music.
If you are enjoying the videos, podcasts and articles on the London Sinfonietta Channel, and if you can possibly afford it, please do consider donating to support the London Sinfonietta’s work both now and in the future – in schools, on the concert platform and in the community.
It might be the price of a coffee, or the cost of a ticket to one of our live events. Any money you can give will also support the Players who perform for the group, by giving them more opportunities to do what they do best – make extraordinary new music that brings the wonderful ideas of living composers to life – as well as support composers to write new music.
