The Composer's Mind: Samantha Fernando

In The Composer's Mind, we meet the composers behind London Sinfonietta's rich programme of newly commissioned repertoire. In this episode, we visited Samantha Fernando to hear about the process of writing Kinesphere as part of the Sinfonietta Shorts series which was premiered at our regular World Premiere Wednesday concert series in November 2014 by London Sinfonietta Principal Flute Michael Cox.

Kinesphere is available to download now on NMC Recordings. www.nmcrec.co.uk/sinfonietta-shorts

Support our work

If you are enjoying the videos, podcasts and articles on the London Sinfonietta Channel, and if you can possibly afford it, please do consider donating to support the London Sinfonietta’s work both now and in the future – in schools, on the concert platform and in the community.

It might be the price of a coffee, or the cost of a ticket to one of our live events. Any money you can give will also support the Players who perform for the group, by giving them more opportunities to do what they do best – make extraordinary new music that brings the wonderful ideas of living composers to life – as well as support composers to write new music.

Text to donate:

Text NEWMUSIC 5 to 70450 to donate £5
Text NEWMUSIC 10 to 70450 to donate £10
