ONLINE CALL OUT FOR PERFORMERS

The third bi-annual international festival of contemporary music produced by CoMA (Contemporary Music for All). The CoMA collective was founded with the intention of involving musicians of all abilities in performances of contemporary music.

Join the London Sinfonietta and Contemporary Music for All (CoMA) for a day celebrating contemporary music. Receive coaching on a piece of contemporary repertoire from a member of the London Sinfonietta. The London Sinfonietta players will be Darragh Morgan (violin), Mark van de Wiel (clarinet), and Christian Barracclough (trumpet).

Following your coaching session you will have the opportunity to perform in The Octagon, at Queen Mary University.

You are welcome to bring along any post-war piece of contemporary music and we encourage people to learn a piece from the ABRSM Spectrum series. Pieces should be no longer than 5 minutes.  The showcase will be open to members of the public to attend.

End the day with a rehearsal and performance with the CoMA Allcomers Orchestra, performing a brand new commission by composer Kate Whitely.

Schedule

Who? We welcome interest from all members of the public of all ages and abilities (those aged under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult).

What? CoMA is a national organisation committed to bringing contemporary music to people whatever their musical ability. This year, they have teamed up with the London Sinfonietta for a day celebrating contemporary music. We encourage people to learn a piece from the ABRSM Spectrum series, commissioned to provide the opportunity to learn contemporary music to all ages and abilities.
