Tromsø Kulturhus
London Sinfonietta made its Tromsø debut at the Northern Lights Festival in 1994. Now they finally return, bringing none other than last year’s festival profile, Marius Neset. The world-leading ensemble and saxophone genius celebrate a decade of collaboration in 2026, marking the anniversary with Neset’s newest work, Changes, written for London Sinfonietta.
Since its founding in 1968, London Sinfonietta has established itself as one of the world's leading ensembles, with nearly 500 commissioned works in its portfolio. Anton Eger is recognized as one of Europe’s most exciting and virtuosic drummers, involved in numerous prestigious projects and collaborations.
These times are weird, big global changes are happening, and lots of people are feeling insecure and confused. Changes is a musical piece that is inspired by all these changes that happen in life. How things look today, might change tomorrow. Marius Neset
Marius Neset is without a doubt one of our most acclaimed musicians and composers today. In Changes he explores life’s many transformations: the small and quiet, the large and overwhelming, all presented in a musical universe that pulses between control and chaos — from the delicate and melancholic to explosive energy.
Programme includes:
