On Thursday 22 February, London Sinfonietta returned to the Southbank Centre's Purcell Room with three UK premieres.
The concert programme flowed on from our celebration in January as we relished the opportunity to re-perform our commission Tales of The Traveller by George Lewis, whilst showcasing three exciting UK premieres from composers Sky Macklay, Katherine Balch and Michel van der Aa.
The range of invention in the music performed was inspiring and showcased the various uses of technology used and the blend of improvised and notated music.
The music was eclectic and exhilarating. " Eva Parkes - Audience Member
Utterly superb concert tonight @southbankcentre by @Ldn_Sinfonietta @Jackfsheen & extraordinary Nina Guo. New music (George Lewis, @vanderaanet, Sky Mackay, Katherine Balch); exhilarating start to finish. The photo (sadly) is as blurred as the musical genres (gloriously) were. pic.twitter.com/XDCDwr57yT
