Masterwork meets world premiere

Queen Elizabeth Hall, London

Canadian composers combine forces with the London Sinfonietta as Claude Vivier’s masterwork, Lonely Child, or as he refers to as his 'long song of solitude', meets a premiere by Nicole Lizée. Part of Southbank Centre’s dedicated series to Vivier.

Nicole Lizée’s new piece draws inspiration from Vivier’s work, addressing isolation in contemporary society. Her style blends video, soap opera plots and electronics into new music that provides a commentary on daily life.
