Commissioning new music is at the very heart of the London Sinfonietta’s work. In the final three decades of the 20th century, the ensemble worked with today’s composer giants as they explore their work early in their own development. These included Birtwistle, Stockhausen, Berio, Xenakis, Ligeti and many others. Today, the ensemble retains and relishes those relationships whilst identifying and championing 21st century creators.
We invite you to play a part in creating the music of tomorrow by supporting one of our forthcoming commissions. Many of the works the London Sinfonietta has commissioned have gone on to become mainstays of the contemporary repertoire, and continue to move and inspire audiences around the UK and internationally every year. By supporting one of our forthcoming commissions, you too can play a part in creating the classics of tomorrow.
