London Sinfonietta Academy
Training the musicians of tomorrow

The London Sinfonietta Academy is an unparalleled opportunity for emerging performers and conductors to train with the world's leading contemporary music ensemble. It is an intensive week-long course of rehearsals, masterclasses and networking opportunities culminating in a public performance. This course provides experience and training in performing as part of a contemporary music ensemble, with coaching from the London Sinfonietta Principal Players and the potential for further performance opportunities in the following season.

The seventh edition in summer 2015 will be led by conductor and London Sinfonietta co-founder David Atherton. The application process is now closed. Please send any questions for

The Academy is also a foremost route in our Emerging Artists Programme, an opportunity for the next generation of exceptional contemporary classical musicians to get involved in the working life of the ensemble. Click here to see our current Emerging Artists.

The 2014 London Sinfonietta Academy took place from 7-13 July 2014. It was led by conductor Pierre-André Valade and, after a week of individual, sectional and tutti rehearsals, concluded with the Musicians of Tomorrow concert at the Platform Theatre in Central Saint Martins. The week also included two conducting masterclasses which gave three emerging conductors the chance to rehearse the London Sinfonietta and receive advice and coaching from Pierre-André in how to handle the demanding repertoire that the ensemble frequently performs.
